Example: cramped bicep. Contract the bicep as intensely as you can for a count of 20 seconds. Then contract the antagonist (in this case the triceps) as intensely as possible for a count of 20 seconds. That might do it for you. It's a technique from Neuromuscular Facilitation. (NMF.)

It could be caused by a cramped muscle in the hip pinching the sciatic nerve. That's called piriformis syndrome. One skillful massage can solve the problem!
